About my process
I offer in-home cooking for individuals, families, and other small groups in the New York City area.
My dream is to get to know you well enough through cooking for you that I can make the food you most want and that most supports you.
I begin with a conversation. I aim to learn anything you want to share with me about your vision for how you want to eat and how I can help bring it into being. We can work together to discover and articulate this vision.
I typically work in terms of “cooking days” – visits to your home of approximately 5 hours. After our conversation, I’ll begin with an initial trial cooking day.
For each cooking day, I’ll propose a menu shaped by what you’ve shared with me, my sense of what’s best at the market at the moment, and other ideas and intuitions about what’s seasonally and personally supportive. Requests and changes are always welcome as we finalize the menu.
The amount of food I make in a cooking day is personalized – it can be the right amount for one person or several people, and cover a few days or up to a week if we include things for the freezer.

My sample menus represent an idea of what I could make over two cooking days in one week. I like to design menus anticipating that you’ll eat some things more than once, and I like the menu items to have a mix and match quality where you might want to eat different things together on different days, either for lunch or dinner. As always, I am open to any other configurations that suit you.
The cost of a cooking day, which includes grocery shopping and clean up, starts at $500, plus the cost of groceries.
After the initial trial session, I hope for us to come to a mutually-supportive agreement to work together at regular intervals for a period of at least 3 months.
I hold an NYC Food Protection Certificate and am insured to cook in your home.
